The Vallejo Police Department Evaluator would like to share the first annual report of the Vallejo Police Oversight and Accountability Commission (POAC). Recognizing the POAC was only able to have its first substantive meeting on January 14, 2026, the publication of this report demonstrates their commitment to upholding their responsibilities under the Vallejo City Ordinance. It also reflects the key goal of a fully constituted POAC – transparency and community commitment to police accountability. The first few months have not been easy, as the report documents, but the commitment and insight of the commissioners is energizing.  The Vallejo Police Department Evaluator looks forward to ensuring the reforms called for under the Settlement Agreement are fully enacted.
